Actors Study Hall
Welcome Fellow Budding Actors! This group is for budding actors in the Galesburg, IL area who would like to learn more about acting techniques, and get hands-on practice using the covered techniques. The only requirement is that you be a novice/amateur actor with a sincere desire and devotion to better your ability to perform! The group will meet weekly in Galesburg. Due to the lack of acting teachers in this area, our groupwork will be based out of texts selected by the group. The topics covered in our meetings will be valuable to all actors, whether they desire to act for stage, screen, voice-over, or etc.! Our first technique will be the (Sanford) Meisner Technique, as taught in the book "The Actor's Art And Craft," written by legendary acting teacher William Esper and professional actor (and accomplished author) Damon DiMarco (ISBN: 9780307279262). |
Keep checking back for all the great Actors Study Hall ("Ash," for short) news! Info on our first group meeting will be posted soon! Try to come prepared for our first meeting by reading the first 3 chapters of "The Actor's Art And Craft." Want to join the Actors Study Hall? E-mail our coordinator at actorsstudyhall@yahoo.com!
